Boston Celtics Agree to 1-Year Deal With Jeff Teague

The Boston Celtics have agreed to a one-year deal with free agent point guard Jeff Teague according to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe.

Teague, 32, has averaged 10.9 points and 5.8 assists per game in his career. He has played for three NBA teams in his 11-year career. Over the last two seasons, he has specialized in coming off of the bench for the Timberwolves and Hawks.

Boston was in the market for a backup point guard this offseason and that need intensified after Brad Wanamaker left in free agency. Teague will be able to give breaks to Kemba Walker when needed.
