The 2023 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Bobi Klintman 2023 NBA Draft Profile.
*Since the writing of this article, Klintman has withdrawn from the 2023 NBA Draft and will look at other paths to the NBA.
Position: Forward
Size: 6-foot-10, 235 pounds
Class: Freshman
School: Wake Forest
2022-2023 stats: 5.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.6 blocks, 40.7%FG, 36.8%3FG, 74.3%FT
Klintman played just one season at Wake Forest and didn’t create the greatest impact, but still is creating some buzz. He is now in the 2023 NBA Draft.
As a four-star prospect out of Sweden, Klintman signed with Wake Forest over programs like Kansas, Colorado and Maryland. In his one season with the Demon Deacons, Klintman started five games and played in 33. He averaged 5.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Unfortunately, he couldn’t help Wake Forest make the NCAA Tournament, as they finished 19-14 on the year.
Following the season, Klintman declared for the 2023 NBA Draft. He is currently projected to be a late first-round pick.
Bobi Klintman Strengths
Klintman has a good body type for the NBA. He stands at 6-foot-10, which is great for the wing, where he probably will play in the NBA. To go with his height, he has a great wingspan that stretches 7-feet long. His height and length can help make him a matchup problem for opponents on the wing, but could also allow him to be a small-ball center.
His defense is among the best qualities Klintman has. He moves decently well for his size and uses his wingspan to guard well on the ball. His size and decent footspeed together allow him to guard multiple positions. If he adds strength he can guard better in the post, but currently he can be an effective perimeter defender.
He has the ability to stretch the floor with his outside shooting. Klintman shot 36.8 percent from 3-point range at Wake Forest. Klintman has the ability to shoot off the catch or off the dribble. He appears to have a good shooting motion and could improve his outside shooting even further.
Bobi Klintman Weaknesses
In order to be a more complete defender, he needs to add weight. This could allow him to fare better when battling with bigger centers. At just 235 pounds, Klintman will need to add several pounds of muscle to hold up on the interior.
While he can dribble solidly for a player of his size, he isn’t a great creator. He has good control of the ball when dribbling, but doesn’t always get into the lane or threaten a defense when he is dribbling. On offense, he is best at cutting to the basket or shooting off the catch currently.
Klintman will be one of the least experienced players in the class. He only started five college games and played 20 minutes per game throughout his one season at Wake Forest. On top of his lack of experience, Klintman didn’t excel in any one stat category. This might make him a role player at best during his career.
Projected Draft Range: Late First-Round Pick
