The Atlanta Hawks have officially announced a partnership with global blockchain provider Socios.com. They are now one of over 20 NBA franchises to partner with the site. New branding will be visible inside State Farm Arena in Atlanta, where the Hawks play their home games.
Below is a quote from Andrew Saltzman, the Hawks’ Chief Revenue Officer, on the new partnership.
“We are proud to partner with Socios.com as we continue to find new and innovative ways to engage with our fans both online and in-person.” -Andrew Saltzman, Hawks chief Revenue officer
The idea behind the cooperation between the two entities is the hope that a blockchain provider as a sponsor will help drive fan engagement and provide new ways to monetize the Hawks franchise. A partnership such as this will allow NBA franchises to create NFTs and other digital assets to increase revenue while also giving fans a new way to engage with their favorite team.
