The 2025 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Ace Bailey NBA Draft Profile.
Position: Forward
Size: 6-foot-7.5, 202.8 pounds
Class: Freshman
College: Rutgers
2024-2025 stats: 17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.3 blocks, 46.0% FG, 34.6% 3FG, 69.2% FT
Bailey was a five-star recruit in the class of 2025 who signed with Rutgers out of Georgia. He played well for the Scarlet Knights, as he averaged 17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Although he played well, Rutgers did not make the NCAA Tournament, finishing at 15-17.
Following one season in college, Bailey declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. He is currently projected to be a top five pick.
Bailey is a good size and versatile for the NBA. He measured in at 6-foot-7.5 inches and has a wingspan of over seven-feet. His size is great for an NBA wing. It allows him to play multiple positions on the perimeter offesnively and also allows him to match up with multiple positions on the defensive end.
Especially for his size, Bailey is a unique athlete with good body control. He is flexible and is able to change directions well. Bailey can attack the rim and throw down some acrobatic dunks, but can also use that leaping ability to block shots at times. If he buys in, he can effectively use his athleticism at the defensive end to bother smaller players on the perimeter.
His shot is smooth for a wing and the mechanics won’t need much work. He shot 34.6 percent from deep in his one season at Rutgers. Bailey specifically specialized in pulling up off the dribble, but can shoot off the catch as well. With his size it is hard for opponents to bother his shot. He can hit mid-range and deep shots to help an offense.
While Bailey is a good athlete and has nice size, he will need to fill out his frame better for the NBA. He weighed in at just 202 pounds at the NBA Combine which is lighter for his height. Adding weight will help him finish at the rim better, but also handle playing against more physical defenders, which is something he struggled with at times in college.
He shot decent percentages at the college level, but can improve on that. His shot selection held him back from possibly being a more efficient player. With some better shots, he can shoot 50 percent from the floor and 40 percent from 3-point range. He can also improve his free throw shooting, as he was under 70 percent at Rutgers.
Bailey can improve his ball-handling to help him create his own shot better. He has some moves, but they often times are a little slower than other players on the perimeter. Improved ball-handling will also help free himself from physical defenders, since he doesn’t have the play strength to combat them.
Projected Draft Range: Top Five Pick
