The NBA season is in full swing, but front offices are always preparing for the draft. Here is the 2024 NBA Mock Draft June 26.
Note: Draft order is from NBA.com.
1. Atlanta Hawks- Zaccharie Risacher, F, France
Risacher can shoot the ball and handle it well for his size. There is no clear-cut number-one draft pick in this class, but it looks like the Hawks might lean towards Risacher.
2. Washington Wizards- Alexandre Sarr, F, France
The Wizards could use a big man like Sarr, who has good body control and can be a defensive anchor.
3. Houston Rockets (via Brooklyn)- Stephon Castle, G, UConn
Castle can defend well and finish at the rim. The Rockets could use a good glue guy with the chance to develop into more and Castle fits that mold.
4. San Antonio Spurs- Reed Sheppard, G, Kentucky
The Spurs can get a player who can pass and stretch the floor for Victor Wembanyama in Sheppard.
5. Detroit Pistons- Rob Dillingham, G, Kentucky
Getting a player who can get his own shot and be a microwave can take some attention from other players on the roster. Dillingham can light it up in a hurry.
6. Charlotte Hornets- Matas Buzelis, F, G-League
Handling the ball isn’t his greatest strength, but playing in Charlotte with LaMelo Ball can help Buzelis be more effective.
7. Portland Trail Blazers- Donovan Clingan, C, UConn
The Trail Blazers may want to find a cheaper option at center for the future. Clingan can protect the rim and finish in the paint.
8. San Antonio Spurs (via TOR)- Jared McCain, G, Duke
McCain developed into a good scorer by the end of the season at Duke. He can be another player to help space the floor.
9. Memphis Grizzlies- Tidjane Salaun, F, France
His solid defense and finishing could be an asset to the Grizzlies. Salaun may take more time to develop.
10. Utah Jazz- Nikola Topic, G, Spain
Topic can be a floor general with some development, as he passes well and protects the ball.
11. Chicago Bulls- Cody Williams, F, Colorado
Williams has the ability to defend well and handle the ball, which could make him a solid role player in the NBA. The Bulls just lost Alex Caruso and need a new perimeter defender.
12. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Hou)- Dalton Knecht, G, Tennesse
The Thunder have enough playmakers and defense, so taking Knecht, who proved to be a three-level scorer at Tennessee, could enhance their team the most.
13. Sacramento Kings- Devin Carter, G, Providence
Davion Mitchell hasn’t quite developed, so the Kings could take another defensive-minded guard here in Carter.
14. Portland Trail Blazers (via GS)- Ja’Kobe Walter, G, Baylor
After going with a center earlier in this draft, Walter can be picked to help space the floor, as he shot the ball well at Baylor.
15. Miami Heat- Ron Holland, G/F, G-League Ignite
With his athleticism, defense and driving, Holland can fit in with the Heat culture well.
16. Philadelphia 76ers- Isaiah Collier, G, USC
Collier can handle the ball and drive well, but didn’t have quite the season that was expected at USC last season.
17. Los Angeles Lakers- Carlton Carrington, G, Pittsburgh
While he may need to add some strength to his frame, Carrington knows how to get his shot off, which could help the Lakers get back in contention with some other free agent moves.
18. Orlando Magic- Terrence Shannon, G, Illinois
Shannon was good defensively early in his college career, then really improved himself as a scorer.
19. Toronto Raptors (via Ind)- Kyle Filipowski, F, Duke
Getting a young player to develop in the post could really help out the young Raptors.
20. Cleveland Cavaliers- Zach Edey, C, Purdue
The Cavaliers could use a player like Edey who can score in the post and protect the rim well on a rotational basis.
21. New Orleans Pelicans (via Mil)- Kel’el Ware, F, Indiana
Ware has unique body control and athleticism for a bigger player.
22. Phoenix Suns- Yves Missi, F, Baylor
The Suns could use an athletic big man like Missi who can do all the dirty work.
23. Milwaukee Bucks (via NO)- Ryan Dunn, F, Virginia
Dunn is the best defender in the class, as he can guard on the perimeter and protect the rim.
24. New York Knicks (via Dal)- Johnny Furphy, G/F, Kansas
Getting shooting to space the floor will be huge for the Knicks and Furphy also brings some athleticism.
25. New York Knicks- Da’Ron Holmes, F, Dayton
Holmes can move well for his size, protect the rim and has added some perimeter shooting to his game.
26. Washington Wizards (via LAC)- Tristan Da Silva, F, Colorado
Silva can drive and shoot, making him a viable offensive player for the NBA.
27. Minnesota Timberwolves- Tyler Kolek, G, Marquette
Kolek can run the point guard in the NBA and is able to operate the pick and roll as well as anyone in the class.
28. Denver Nuggets- Kyshawn George, G/F, Miami
George has a bigger body, but has guard-like skills. He didn’t play a ton at Miami, so he needs some game time before figuring if his game can adjust to the next level.
29. Utah Jazz (via OKC)-Baylor Scheierman, G, Creighton
Scheierman scores the ball well, but also showed he could run the offense a little bit at Creighton.
30. Boston Celtics- Justin Edwards, G, Kentucky
Edwards showed some flashes of good shooting at Kentucky, but also has nice athleticism.
