The 2023 NBA Draft Lottery has happened and the order of the selections has been set. Here is the 2023 NBA Mock Draft May 18.
1. San Antonio Spurs- Victor Wembanyama, C, France
The Spurs will get a chance to take the most hyped up draft prospect in some time. Wembanyama is over 7-foot, but has the skills of a guard.
2. Charlotte Hornets-Brandon Miller, F, Alabama
Getting players who can stretch the floor has to be a priority for the Hornets. Miller has great length, but can also shoot very well.
3. Portland Trail Blazers- Scoot Henderson, G, Overtime Elite
The Trail Blazers are aiming to trade this pick to help support a playoff run for Damian Lillard. Whoever makes the pick will likely take Henderson. Henderson is really improving in the G-League. He can score for himself and create for his teammates.
4. Houston Rockets- Amen Thompson, G, Overtime Elite
Thompson is a bigger point guard who also has great athleticism. He has played in the Overtime Elite league for two seasons so the NBA will be a jump in competition.
5. Detroit Pistons- Ausar Thompson, G/F, Overtime Elite
Ausar plays on the wing and has great athleticism to work with for an NBA team.
6. Orlando Magic- Jarace Walker, F, Houston
Walker has shown the ability to play in the post, but also stretch the floor with his outside shooting.
7. Indiana Pacers- Taylor Hendricks, F, UCF
The Pacers can get a player with a skillset to be a solid 3-and-D player.
8. Washington Wizards- Anthony Black, G, Arkansas
Black is a taller point guard who can create for his teammates well.
9. Utah Jazz- Cam Whitmore, F, Villanova
Whittmore is a very good shooter and can fulfill that role in the NBA.
10. Dallas Mavericks- Gradey Dick, G, Kansas
The Mavericks need to continue to spread the floor for Luka Doncic and Dick can help with that.
11. Orlando Magic- Cason Wallace, G, Kentucky
Wallace can play either guard spot and is one of the best perimeter defenders in the class.
12. Oklahoma City Thunder- Keyonte George, G/F, Baylor
George can get to the basket and has solid athleticism.
13. Toronto Raptors- Nick Smith Jr., G, Arkansas
Smith dealt with injuries during his time at Arkansas, which really impeded his ability to reach his potential. He was a highly-touted recruit, who may have better success in the NBA.
14. New Orleans Pelicans- Jett Howard, F, Michigan
Teams who want a potential three-level scorer should look at Howard.
15. Atlanta Hawks- G.G. Jackson, F, South Carolina
An athletic interior player, Jackson has shown good effort to score despite plays not being run for him.
16. Utah Jazz- Brice Sensabaugh, G, Ohio State
Sensabaugh is a great isolation player who can create for himself.
17. Los Angeles Lakers- Dariq Whitehead, G/F, Duke
Whitehead battled injuries at Duke, but could improve the shooting of the Lakers.
18. Miami Heat- Kobe Bufkin, G, Michigan
Bufkin has the talent to develop into a true point guard and will have the luxury of learning from other good pros in Miami.
19. Golden State Warriors- Jordan Hawkins, G, UConn
Any team that likes shooters as much as the Warriors will be looking at Hawkins.
20. Houston Rockets- Kris Murray, F, Iowa
Kris has a similar game to his older brother Keegan who had a solid rookie season with the Kings.
21. Brooklyn Nets- Rayan Rupert, G/F, France
Rupert is a young prospect with a long wingspan. He has played in New Zealand and shown his skillset in a limited capacity.
22. Brooklyn Nets- Dereck Lively, F, Duke
Lively didn’t live up to the recruiting hype, but did turn things on late in the season for Duke.
23. Portland Trail Blazers- Jalen Hood-Schifino, G, Indiana
While he has good size for a guard, Hood-Schifino needs to work on his shooting.
24. Sacramento Kings- Colby Jones, G, Xavier
Jones has the ability to play off-ball, create for others and shoot from deep.
25. Memphis Grizzlies- Noah Clowney, F, Alabama
Clowney was a good scorer, but a better rebounder for Alabama.
26. Indiana Pacers- Maxwell Lewis, G/F, Pepperdine
Lewis can score at all three levels and is following in the footsteps of Jalen Williams who was drafted out of Pepperdine last season.
27. Charlotte Hornets- Brandin Poziemski, G, Santa Clara
Poziemski shoots the ball well and can create for others.
28. Utah Jazz- Bilal Coulibaly, G/F, France
Coulibaly has the ability to shoot and get to the basket.
29. Indiana Pacers- Andre Jackson, G/F, UConn
There won’t be many better athletes in this class than Jackson, who can be a glue guy in the NBA.
30. Los Angeles Clippers- Trayce Jackson-Davis, F, Indiana
Jackson-Davis is a good post player who can score and rebound well from that position.
