2022 NBA Mock Draft May 5

The 2022 NBA playoffs are here, which means the 2022 NBA Draft won’t be too far behind. Here is the 2022 NBA Mock Draft May 5.

1. Houston Rockets- Jabari Smith, F, Auburn

Houston has a really good young guard in Jalen Green. They can pair him with Smith, who is an athletic big, who is capable of stretching the floor.

2. Orlando Magic- Paolo Banchero, F, Duke

The Magic have a solid young backcourt, but could use a good frontcourt option. Banchero can score from the perimeter or in the paint.

3. Detroit Pistons- Chet Holmgren, F, Gonzaga

Cade Cunningham had a good rookie season. The Pistons can pair him with a unicorn of a player in Holmgren who can block shots and stretch the floor.

4. Oklahoma City Thunder- Keegan Murray, F, Iowa

Oklahoma City has two good guards in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey. Keegan Murray can give them a post scorer.

5. Indiana Pacers-Jaden Ivey, G, Purdue

Ivey has the versatility to play on or off-ball and can really help the Pacers with his versatility.

6. Portland Trail Blazers- Johnny Davis, G, Wisconsin

After trading away C.J. McCollum, the Trail Blazers can get a new backcourt mate for Damian Lillard. Davis was one of the best scorers in college basketball.

7. Sacramento Kings- Bennedict Mathurin, F, Arizona

Mathurin was one of the most improved players in the country last season and can be a good wing scorer.

8. New Orleans Pelicans- TyTy Washington, G, Kentucky

With Zion Williamson probably coming back, they need to surround him with shooters and playmakers. Washington can do a bit of both.

9. San Antonio Spurs- Malaki Branham, G/F, Ohio State

The Spurs could use another player like Branham, who can help spread the floor.

10. Washington Wizards- Blake Wesley, PG, Notre Dame

Wesley showed some playmaking ability as a freshman at Notre Dame and could end up being a solid starting point guard in the league.

11. New York Knicks- Kennedy Chandler, PG, Tennessee

With Kemba Walker and Derrick Rose as question marks for next year, the Knicks can get a speedy point guard in Chandler to help their depth.

12. Oklahoma City Thunder- Shaedon Sharpe, G, Kentucky

Sharpe didn’t end up playing for Kentucky, but did practice with the team over the last semester. He would be a risk, but Oklahoma City loves to find prospects they can develop.

13. Atlanta Hawks- Ochai Agbaji, G, Kansas

Trae Young is a great player and needs all the players who can spread the floor. Agbaji was a good scorer and shooter for the Jayhawks in his career.

14. Indiana Pacers- Jalen Duren, C, Memphis

Duren was one of the bright spots on a Memphis team who battled to make the NCAA Tournament. He protects the rim and rebounds well.

15. Charlotte Hornets- A.J. Griffin, G/F, Duke

After not playing much early in the season, Griffin found his shooting stroke and became a key player for Duke. He can keep the floor open for LaMelo Ball.

16. Atlanta Hawks- Mark Williams, C, Duke

Williams was a good shot blocker and rebounder for Duke and can provide center depth for the Hawks.

17. Houston Rockets- Tari Eason, F, LSU

At 6-foot-8, Eason demonstrated the ability to score effectively at LSU.

18. Chicago Bulls- Nikola Jovic, F, Serbia

Jovic has improved his playmaking this season and can provide some nice depth for the Bulls.

19. Minnesota Timberwolves- Jeremy Sochan, F, Baylor

Sochan was the Sixth Man of the Year in the Big 12 and can provide some depth in the frontcourt.

20. San Antonio Spurs- Kendall Brown, F, Baylor

Brown was able to show his athleticism at Baylor and can provide solid defense with some work.

21. Denver Nuggets- Dyson Daniels, G, G-League

With Jamal Murray still not returning from injury yet, the Nuggets can get some good backcourt depth.

22. Memphis Grizzlies- Ousmane Dieng, F, France

Dieng needs to develop a better 3-point shot to be effective in the NBA.

23. Brooklyn Nets- Jaden Hardy, G, G-League

Hardy showed he could score in the G-League and can help the Nets off the bench.

24. Milwaukee Bucks- Walker Kessler, C, Auburn

Milwaukee ranked near the bottom of the league in blocked shots per game and can use a center like Kessler for a few minutes a game.

25. San Antonio Spurs- E.J. Liddell, F, Ohio State

Liddell is a versatile scorer who could play a small-ball center role if asked.

26. Dallas Mavericks- Patrick Baldwin, F, Milwaukee

Baldwin’s year at Milwaukee didn’t go as planned, but may be able to improve as a pro.

27. Miami Heat- Trayce Jackson-Davis, F, Indiana

Jackson-Davis plays hard in the post and seems to fit in with Miami’s culture.

28. Golden State Warriors- Trevor Keels, G, Duke

At Duke, Keels played on and off-ball and could provide some nice depth for the Warriors.

29. Memphis Grizzlies- Wendell Moore, G, Duke

Moore is another player who took a huge jump this season. His scoring could be useful off the bench.

30. Oklahoma City Thunder- Christian Koloko, C, Arizona

The Thunder have plenty of picks to use so getting a center who can block a lot of shots this late in the first round can add to their young team.
