There were some very under-the-radar signings in this year’s offseason. Unlike the Lakers (joking), some NBA teams actually got some very good talent in this year’s free agency. This article will go over 2022-2023 underrated NBA Signings.
Roby will always be known as the silly season fantasy savior. The second-round pick out of Nebraska had some healthy averages last season: 10.1 points, 4.8 boards, 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks on 51% from the field, 44% from three and 67% from the line. Roby wasn’t a big part of the rotation despite having a very strong sophomore campaign (he is entering his fourth year in the league). Now, Roby will be given a fresh new start with his second tanking team. This time, however, he may actually find some playing time out of the gate. San Antonio is need of centers, so Roby being a small-ball five is definitely a possibility. Hopefully, he gets enough playing time to make a difference.
The Nets have to be kicking themselves right now for letting Brown go. It’s not like they made an effort to re-sign him, though. Brown was one of the main reasons this team was able to make the playoffs last season. He put up averages of nine points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 dimes, 1.1 steals, and 0.7 blocks on 51% from the field, 40% from the three-point line and 76% from the line. Brown is a very good passer who can also guard one through four, so he will definitely be missed in the Nets rotation. Now for the Nuggets, they got a major steal. He will help bolster this team’s second unit and maybe even slide into the starting lineup.
With Gary Payton II, Otto Porter Jr., and Nemanja Bjelica leaving, Golden State had a massive hole to fill in the second unit. DiVincenzo is coming off a season with the Kings with averages of 10.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.6 dimes, 1.5 steals, and 0.2 blocks on 36% from the field, 37% from three and 84% from the line. The percentages were kind of lacking and one would think a move to the Kings would help in terms of his usage. It was true to an extent, as he was complaining about playing time later on in the season. Now, he gets to have a chance to play for a much better Californian team. The Warriors got a good steal with this guy and the Kings let yet another promising player go.
