
The NBA 2K League announced that the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft will be held Tuesday, March 5 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The 2019 NBA 2K League Draft will start at 5 p.m. ET and will be streamed on the NBA 2K League Twitch channel. Last year, the league was praised for how professional and proficient their draft stream was.
The 2019 NBA 2K League Draft will consist of four rounds. At the end of the draft, all 21 teams must have a complete six-person roster.
After the NBA 2K League Expansion draft, that was held on September 26, the inaugural 17 teams had the opportunity to retain up to two additional players from their season one roster who were not selected in the Expansion Draft. Teams who retained players who were not protected for the Expansion Draft by forfeiting draft picks in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft.
Along with protecting players, teams were also allowed a maximum of two trades during the designated trade window from September 27 through October 10. All trades were required to have a 1:1 ratio. That means teams could not trade two picks for one player or vice versa.
There will be 126 players competing in the NBA 2K League’s second season. This year, there will be more players that are in the draft pool than spots available in the league.
The player pool with consist of players from the league’s APAC Invitational that took place in Hong Kong, unretained players from season one who completed Combine requirements, and new players who were selected by the league following an tryout process.
