The Chicago White Sox have made a trade with the Rockies for outfielder Brenton Doyle, according to Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon. In return, pitcher Mason Adams and shortstop Carlos Vielma will be traded to Colorado.
Doyle, 28, is a four-year veteran who has played his whole career with the Rockies. In his career, he has batted .233 with 49 home runs and 182 RBIs. It has been a down 2026 season for Doyle, as he is batting .214 with one home run and five RBIs in 45 games played.
The White Sox have surprised this season with a 59-52 record, which leads the American League Central. Acquiring Doyle when his value is lower could pay off down the road.
Adams, 26, has a 3.22 ERA over 63 appearances in four seasons of Minor League Baseball. Vielma, 16, is an international prospect who batted .337 in the Fall Rookie League.
Colorado gets the prospects in an effort to rebuild, with their record being 45-57 this season.
