Miley, 34, posted a 12-7 record last season for the Reds and posted a 3.37 ERA. In his career, he has a 4.15 ERA and has a record of 97-92. He made the All-Star team as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012. He also played for the Red Sox, Mariners, Orioles and Brewers in his career.
The addition of Miley will help the Cubs, who ranked 27th in the league in team ERA for 2021.
Cincinnati has already made moves to save money this offseason, as they shipped out Tucker Barnhart to the Tigers. The Reds could have accepted his $10 million option and traded him, but elected not to take the risk. It looks like the team is headed for at least a soft rebuild this season, with money being a major issue.
