Major League Baseball is about to start and teams have prepared their pitching rotations. Here is the Toronto Blue Jays 2024 projected pitching rotation.
Berrios was bumped to the top of the rotation due to injuries. He had an 11-12 record last season, but that is a little misleading as he posted a 3.65 ERA.
In 2023, Bassitt tied for the AL lead with 16 wins in his first season with the Blue Jays. Bassitt, 35, had a 3.6 ERA last season.
The 2023 season was his second with the Blue Jays and the best of Kikuchi’s career. He finished the year with an 11-6 record and a 3.86 ERA.
Francis has bounced around the minor leagues for the majority of his career, but he is getting into the rotation this season. He had a 1.73 ERA in 20 appearances out of the bullpen last season.
Gausman had some arm fatigue in Spring Training and hasn’t made a start yet. He is going to pitch on Monday, which will give the Blue Jays a feel for where he is at. The normal ace of the rotation may start the year in the last spot due to injury. He had a league-leading 237 strikeouts last season.
Notes: Alek Manoah (RHP) could take the fifth spot in the rotation if Gausman isn’t ready to go. He is also dealing with shoulder soreness.
