The Seattle Mariners have completed a trade with the San Francisco Giants for catcher Curt Casali according to Robert Murray. San Francisco gets pitcher Michael Stryffeler in return.
The Seattle Mariners are acquiring catcher Curt Casali from the San Francisco Giants for Michael Stryffeler, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Casali, 33, is batting .231 this season with four home runs and 14 RBIs in 126 plate appearances. He has played with the Rays, Reds and Giants over his nine-year career. In his nine seasons, he has batted .227 with 46 home runs and 145 home runs.
Seattle has made a few moves to improve their roster before the trade deadline as they look to compete for a World Series. Casali rejoins Luis Castillo in Seattle, who he used to play with in Cincinnati.
The Giants have started trading away a few players including Darin Ruf, as they currently sit below .500. Stryffeler is a 26-year-old pitcher who has 2.27 ERA at the Double-A level this season.
