The Kansas City Royals are acquiring shortstop Paul De Jong from the White Sox according to Ken Rosenthal.
DeJong is batting .228 with 18 home runs and 41 RBI this season for the White Sox. He is an eight-year MLB vet who has spent time with the Cardinals, Blue Jays, Giants and White Sox. In his career, he has an average of .229 with 134 home runs and 385 RBI.
The White Sox have been trading away players as they prep for a rebuild, while the Royals are adding to a team that is 58-49 and looking to get to the playoffs. There is no reported return for the White Sox yet.
