
The Texas Rangers are finalizing a trade to bring in pitcher Jordan Montgomery from the St. Louis Cardinals according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Montgomery, 30, has played seven MLB seasons with the Yankees and Cardinals. He has a career record of 34-32 and an ERA of 3.77. This season he has a 6-9 record with a 3.42 ERA.
Texas has been aggressive already at the trade deadline, as they already acquired Max Scherzer from the Mets. They have a 60-45 record and are first in the AL West.
St. Louis has started to trade some of their players as they build for the future. They also traded Jordan Hicks to the Blue Jays.
There is no reported return yet for the Cardinals.
