There isn’t any information on exactly who is going to Pittsburgh, but Passan mentioned his sources are telling him they are two young prospects with potential.
At 31-years-old, Marte has spent his entire 8-year career in Pittsburgh. He is a one-time All-Star and a two-time Gold Glove winner. Marte is a career .287 hitter with 108 home runs and 420 RBIs. In 2019, Marte batted .295 with 23 home runs and 82 RBIs.
The Pirates look to be starting a rebuild by giving up Marte for prospects. Arizona, on the other hand, may now compete for the playoffs after going 85-77 last season.
