The Philadelphia Phillies have traded for shortstop Edmundo Sosa according to Ken Rosenthal. In return, the Cardinals will receive pitcher JoJo Romero.

Sosa, 26, is batting .189 with eight RBIs in 131 plate appearances this season. In his young career, he has batted .245 with six home runs and 35 RBIs.
The acquisition of Sosa will help the Phillies as their current record stands at 53-47. They are currently in third place in the NL East and currently slotted as a Wild Card team.
Romero is going to the Cardinals as a left-handed pitcher who has 7.89 ERA over three MLB seasons. The 25-year-old reliever has 25 career appearances.
