The Washington Nationals fire sale continues, as they have just traded right-handed pitcher Daniel Hudson to the San Diego Padres. Washington has also traded away Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber and Max Scherzer on Thursday.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported the news via Twitter on Thursday night.
The San Diego Padres are finalizing a deal to acquire right-hander Daniel Hudson from the Washington Nationals, sources tell ESPN.
Hudson is currently on the COVID IL. But he’s been one of the best RP in baseball this year, and Padres’ gets better. @ByRobertMurray linked them.

Hudson is a 12-year veteran that will be on his seventh team after his Padres debut. He was a member of the 2019 World Series champion Nationals team and has won a Silver Slugger award in 2011 when he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
In 2021 he has made 31 appearances with the Nats, posting a 4-1 record and an ERA of of just 2.20. He has 32.2 innings pitched this season and struck out 48 batters. The details regarding who the Padres are sending back to Washington in return have not been released at time of writing.
