The New York Mets have fired manager Mickey Callaway after two seasons with the team. Anthony DiComo of MLB.com was the first to report the news.

Callaway was 163-161 in his two seasons as managers. The Mets failed to make the playoffs in both seasons under Callaway.

Managers that have been rumored to be candidates for the job are Joe Maddon, Joe Girardi and former Met Carlos Beltran.
