MLB Power Rankings:End of June

We are at the end of June, which means we are about halfway through the MLB season. It’s time to check in and see where teams stand in the MLB Power Rankings.

Since this is the first MLB Power Ranking list published by The Game Haus in 2026, instead of seeing where teams were on previous lists, we will use a trend to see if they are trending up (⬆️), down (⬇️), or somewhere in the middle (↔️). Some teams are also doing really well and therefore are hot (🔥) or performing really poorly and therefore are down bad (👎).

1. Los Angeles Dodgers (55-30) – Trend: ⬆️
   • They don’t even have their best starting rotation. Their stars haven’t quite been up to their normal standards. Doesn’t matter; the Dodgers are still on pace for over 100 wins, and Shohei is being Shohei. Oh, also watch out when they get Snell, Glasnow, Smith, and Diaz back.
2. Milwaukee Brewers (51-31) – Trend: ⬆️
   • The Brewers have sneakily climbed to number two in the standings and are the fastest team in franchise history to reach 50 wins. Their bats have been good, but the pitching has been phenomenal, headlined by Cy Young favorite Jacob Misiorowski. They have stayed very consistent this season, just racking up wins.
3. Atlanta Braves (49-33) – Trend: ⬇️
   • The Braves have hit a rough patch after being the best team in the league for the first couple of months. Their rotation and lineup have both taken hits from injuries. Their hitting has still been decent lately, and their bullpen has held things down.
4. New York Yankees (48-36) – Trend: ⬇️
   • The Bronx Bombers live up to their name. They lead the league in home runs, but also in team ERA. They have been solid all year when they have combined power hitting with a solid pitching staff that features Cy Young favorite Cam Schlittler.
5. Tampa Bay Rays (48-33) – Trend: ⬆️
   • Tampa Bay has been a pretty streaky team this season. They started off great, had a prolonged slump, and have been good again recently. They have been back and forth with the Yankees for control of the East, mostly due to their stellar pitching staff.
6. Philadelphia Phillies (47-38) – Trend: ⬆️
   • The only guys really swinging the bats in the Phillies lineup right now are Harper, Marsh, and Schwarber, but it hasn’t seemed to matter, and Philadelphia has climbed right back into the season after an abysmal start that led to the hook for Rob Thomson. Their starting rotation has also gotten the job done with their three-headed monster of Sanchez, Wheeler, and Luzardo.
7. Miami Marlins (45-40) – Trend: ⬆️
   • The Miami Marlins have been the best team in baseball with a 19-6 record in June. Their pitching staff has finally found its stride with Sandy Alcantara doing his thing and Max Meyer having a sneaky great campaign. Their offense continues to roll along as well, led by All-Star candidates Otto Lopez and Xavier Edwards.
8. Chicago White Sox (44-39) – Trend: ⬆️
   • This could be one of the most exciting teams in the league. Led by a lot of young talent, the South Siders have been impressive considering pretty low expectations. Their bats have been hot, and the pitching has been better than anyone could have predicted.
9. Chicago Cubs (47-38) – Trend: 🔥
   • After a really rough stretch, the Cubs seem to have found a little bit of footing again. They looked impressive when they swept the Mets, and then stole a series in Milwaukee. Pete Crow-Armstrong has been arguably the best player in baseball for a month, which has helped cover up their litany of pitching injuries.
10. St. Louis Cardinals (43-38) – Trend: ⬇️
    • The Cardinals have been one of the most consistent teams in baseball this year. Even during what many thought would be a rebuild season, St. Louis has looked good, but never dominant. They have hit a bit of a rough patch recently.
11. Seattle Mariners (43-43) – Trend: ↔️
    • The Mariners could perhaps be the most frustrating team in baseball from a fan perspective. They were projected as one of the American League powers, only to meander around .500 for the first half. Their pitching staff has held down the fort decently well, but the offense continues to struggle.
12. Washington Nationals (43-43) – Trend: ↔️
    • This young Nats team has turned heads with their high-powered offense led by James Wood and CJ Abrams. They top the league in total runs and are top-10 in homers. Their pitching staff has held them back all year, though, so they have had to power past opponents to win games.
13. San Diego Padres (43-40) – Trend: ↔️
    • The Padres are last in the league in hits, runs, and batting average. It’s frankly a miracle they’ve been able to keep their heads above water for this long. They’ve relied heavily on one of the best bullpens in the league to keep them in games and have had their fair share of miraculous late-game comebacks.
14. Arizona Diamondbacks (42-42) – Trend: ↔️
    • Arizona is one of those aggressive teams that hasn’t quite found a groove this season. Their stats are not where you would want them to be, but they still have a lineup opposing teams are not excited to face.
15. Cleveland Guardians (44-41) – Trend: ↔️
    • Somehow, Cleveland has weathered a ton of recent injuries to some of their better players and stayed above .500 in the race for the Central. They have done it in classic Guardians fashion: good defense and stellar pitching. Their offense, however, has been abysmal all year.
16. Houston Astros (42-45) – Trend: ⬆️
    • The Astros are finally getting some of their pitching staff back and healthy, and it’s been allowing them to play a better brand of baseball. Early in the season, they had to rely on out-mashing teams, and if they have their pitching staff healthy, that won’t always be the case.
17. Texas Rangers (43-42) – Trend: 🔥
    • Texas has won five straight as of today, and has taken over control of the AL West. They have been hot over the past couple of weeks, and fortunately for them, the division was there for the taking. Their stats are solidly middle of the pack overall, but if they can find a good groove, they could climb this list fast.
18. Athletics (40-45) – Trend: ⬇️
    • The A’s have been like the Astros this season, and have had to rely on their bats to mask the pitching difficulties. Unfortunately for the Athletics, they don’t have many reinforcements on the way in that department. Their lineup can be one of the best in baseball, which keeps them competitive.
19. Pittsburgh Pirates (43-42) – Trend: ⬇️
    • Perhaps surprisingly, it has been the Pirates’ offense that has been their strong suit for most of the season. They lead the league in hits, but have just had trouble scoring when it matters. A pretty deep starting rotation has shown some cracks, but the bullpen has really struggled.
20. Toronto Blue Jays (40-45) – Trend: 👎 
    • The reigning AL champions have been a shell of themselves so far. They’ve had some injuries, but so has everyone else. Their players that need to perform, notably Vlad Guerrero Jr., haven’t been, leaving the Jays in a difficult spot.
21. Cincinnati Reds (39-44) – Trend: 👎
    • The Reds started their season in a fantastic spot, but it only went downhill since the beginning of May. In that time frame, they have been one of the worst teams in baseball, thanks to an underwhelming offense and one of the worst bullpens in baseball.
22. Minnesota Twins (41-45) – Trend: ⬆️
    • The Twins have been better recently, even after being swept by the Dodgers. Their bats have been hot, and that has propelled them to some wins, even with a very shaky pitching staff other than the consistent Joe Ryan.
23. Baltimore Orioles (39-47) – Trend: ↔️
    • The Orioles are another somewhat confusing team. They have the guys that you would think could get them at least to a decent place in the standings, but they aren’t. Their big-name players have underwhelmed for the most part, and their pitching has been subpar at best.
24. Detroit Tigers (36-49) – Trend: ⬆️
    • The Tigers were another team with high expectations and a disappointing start. They’ve been getting back to themselves lately, especially since Tarik Skubal returned from injury. The team as a whole just hasn’t been great, even though they were thought to be the frontrunner in the AL Central.
25. Boston Red Sox (37-46) – Trend: ⬆️
    • The Sox have shown a bit of life as of late, even after one of their worst starts in recent memory. Their pitching staff has been solid all year, but several of their high-impact bats have been severely underperforming.
26. Kansas City Royals (35-50) – Trend: ↔️
    • The Royals have dealt with their fair share of injuries to star players, but except for Bobby Witt Jr., when their stars have been playing, they haven’t been great. Especially on the pitching side of things, the Royals have underperformed expectations. They are near the bottom of the league in every important pitching stat.
27. San Francisco Giants (35-49) – Trend: ↔️ 
    • Every time the Giants seem like they might be climbing out of the hole they dug themselves in, they just fall right back down. They haven’t managed to find any semblance of consistency all year. Despite having a very high team batting average, they aren’t scoring runs, and the pitching hasn’t helped out much either.
28. Los Angeles Angels (36-50) – Trend: ↔️ 
    • Something needs to change in Anaheim, and it seems like ownership agrees, as they just fired their General Manager. The Angels have been stuck in limbo the last couple of years, and this season doesn’t look to be an exception.
29. New York Mets (35-50) – Trend: ⬆️
    • In their last three series, the Mets have been swept by the Cubs and lost four of six to Philadelphia. Several of those losses have come in embarrassing fashion, and now that they have fired Carlos Mendoza, some are wondering why they didn’t do it sooner. Everything is going wrong in Queens; the stars aren’t performing, the pitching has been bad, and there will be new management to top it all off.
30. Colorado Rockies (33-52) – Trend: ↔️
    • There are not a lot of redeeming qualities to this Rockies squad. Hunter Goodman has been great, and they have some exciting young players. That’s about it.
