The Milwaukee Brewers have made a move to help shore up their pitching rotation by making a trade for a right-hander. Mark Canha is on his way to Milwaukee in return for another RHP, Justin Jarvis, who is pitching in Double-A as of now.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Before joining the Mets, Canha pitched for the Oakland Athletics from 2015-2021. He, then, signed his two year deal with the Mets, which was worth $26.5 million. Jarvis is currently in Biloxi, Mississippi with the Shuckers.
Canha has appeared in 89 games and racked up 257 at-bats so far this season. He’s collected 63 hits, 29 RBI and six home runs in 2023, while striking out 52 times. His batting average up to this point is .245, which could elevate to top his career high BA.
