

The New York Mets have completed a trade with the San Francisco Giants for relief pitcher Tyler Rogers, according to Jeff Passan. Right-hander Jose Butto, outfield prospect Drew Gilbert and pitching prospect Blade Tidwell. Joel Sherman reported the full return.
Rogers, 34, has a 1.80 ERA this season in 53 appearances. He has a 2.79 ERA in his career over seven seasons, which have all been with the Giants.
The Mets are 62-46 on the season and in first place in the NL East. They have a 3.82 bullpen ERA this season, which ranks in the top 10, but this bolsters their arsenal for the playoffs.
Butto, 27, has a 3.64 ERA this season out of the bullpen. Gilbert was the no. 12 prospect in the Mets system, while Tidwell is 10th. The Giants are 54-54 on the season and five games out of the National League Wild Card spot.
San Francisco gets help for this season in Butto, but also get help for the future with the trade.
