After missing a chunk of time during the regular season, Luis Robert made his return in the Arizona Fall League. Since his return, he has been lighting it up at the plate. In Glendale’s game against Scottsdale on Friday, Robert finished 3/4 with an RBI. As Luis Robert continues to dominate in Arizona, his prospect stock is on the rise.
Luis Robert Continues To Dominate In Arizona
Luis Robert is currently the fourth-ranked prospect in the White Sox organization and the 44th overall prospect in baseball. He possesses tremendous speed and contact ability. He also has plus power and good fielding ability. Robbert struggled a bit during the regular season due to injury, but he has been strong so far in the Arizona League.
He currently has a batting line of .361 AVG/.409 OBP/.492 SLG with two homers and 10 RBIs. He had a 14 game hitting streak going into Saturday’s game, but he could not stretch it to 15. Despite this, he has still performed extremely well at the plate and in centerfield.
Over his last 10 games, his batting line is .400 AVG/.455 OBP/.600 SLG. In his last 10, he slugged both of his home runs and eight of his RBIs.
In Robert’s 61 plate appearances, he has only struck out 11 times and walked five times. Keeping his strikeouts low is definitely a good sign as Robert has the potential to be a great top of the order hitter in the future.
The White Sox Outlook
As Luis Robert continues to dominate, this gives White Sox fans a good look at development in the future. After the Sox top prospect, Eloy Jimenez tore up Triple-A and Luis Alexander Basabe had a strong 2018 campaign. Things look good for the future outfield. However, that isn’t all as White Sox prospects Blake Rutherford and Miker Adolfo also had really good seasons.
The White Sox will have some interesting decisions to make in a year or so when most of their top prospects are ready for minor league options. Especially after rumors that the club is looking to sign Bryce Harper, the outfield looks a bit crowded.
