The Colorado Rockies have traded the Red Sox for Kevin Pillar and cash according to MLB.com. Boston will receive a player to be named later in return.
The Rockies are acquiring Kevin Pillar and cash from the Red Sox in exchange for a PTBNL and 2019-20 international slot money, per source.

Pillar, 31, is an outfielder with a .271 average this season. He also has four home runs and 13 RBIs for the Red Sox. For his career, Pillar has batted .261 with 80 home runs and 331 RBIs.
The Rockies have acquired Pillar as they are competing for the playoffs with a 17-17 record. Boston is looking to rebuild after a 12-22 start.
