The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired pitcher Kris Bubic from the Kansas City Royals, according to Fabian Ardaya. In return, the Royals will get Carlos Duran.
Bubic, 28, is a seven-year veteran who has spent his whole career with the Royals. He has a 22-38 record and a 4.14 ERA in his career. This season, he has started nine games with a 3-2 record and 4.11 ERA.
The Dodgers are shoring up their pitching staff as they head to competing for another championship. After acquiring Tarik Skubal from the Tigers, they get another starter in Bubic.
Kansas City will receive Duran, 24, who has made one appearance at the major league level in 2025. This season in AAA, he has a 3.38 ERA. With the Royals in last place in the division, they opted to make a move for the future at this trade deadline.
