The 2023 MLB trade deadline is looming, slamming shut at 6:00pm ET on Tuesday. With that in mind, the Brewers have ensured some depth in their bullpen/pitching rotation by making a trade for left-handed pitcher Andrew Chafin.
FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Chafin began his career as an Arizona Diamondback, spending the first six years and change of his career there. He returned to the Diamondbacks in 2023, but spent just half of the year there before being traded to a contender.
So far this season, Chafin has an ERA of 4.23 after appearing in 43 games. He hasn’t started a game yet this year, but has finished 14. He’s given up three home runs, walked 18 batters and struck out 49 hitters. Chafin has faced 150 batters exactly this year.
