
The Toronto Blue Jays have traded the St. Louis Cardinals for pitcher Jordan Hicks according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Hicks, 26, is 1-6 with a 3.67 ERA this season. For his career, he has a 9-18 record and 3.67.
The Blue Jays are 59-47 and are making a run at the playoffs as they currently sit at third in the AL East. They hold the last Wild Card spot in the American League at the moment.
St. Louis is acquiring prospects in return. Sem Robberse is a pitcher who was the seventh-ranked prospect in the Blue Jays pitcher according to MLB.com. Kloffenstein was not ranked as a top-30 prospect for Toronto.
The Cardinals are last in the NL Central and are building for the future by trading some of their pitchers away. On Sunday they traded both Hicks and Jordan Montgomery to get players to help them in the future.
