Baltimore Orioles 2023 Projected Pitching Rotation

Publish Date: March 30, 2023

The 2023 MLB season is warming up as pitchers and catchers have officially reported, and spring training draws closer. In this series of articles, TGH is going to be giving an early look at every team’s projected pitching rotations ahead of Opening Day on March 30. Here is the 2023 pitching rotation for the Baltimore Orioles.

**Note: As these are very early projections, the pitching rotations are subject to change before the season officially begins.**

Orioles 2022 Season Review

The Orioles finished fourth in the AL East, in front of the surprisingly bad Red Sox, with a record of 83-79. They became the first team in 123 years to lose 110 games in one season, and have a winning record in the next. Baltimore still missed the playoffs for the sixth-consecutive season, however.

2023 Projected Pitching Rotation

1. Kyle Gibson

2022 stats: 10-8, 5.05 ERA, 167.2 IP, 94 ER

Gibson is entering his 11th MLB season after posting one of the worse ERAs of his career. Despite that, he signed a one-year contract with the Orioles in December.

2. Cole Irvin

2022 stats: 9-13, 3.98 ERA, 181.0 IP, 80 ER

2023 will also be Irvin’s first year with the Orioles. He was a workhorse last season, pitching almost 200 innings.

3. Kyle Bradish

2022 stats: 4-7, 4.90 ERA, 117.2 IP, 64 ER

The Orioles will likely find out what they have in Bradish this season, after pitching him in 23 games last year. His hits per nine innings during his rookie year stood at 9.1.

4. Dean Kremer

2022 stats: 8-7, 3.23 ERA, 125.1 IP, 45 ER

Kremer not only had the biggest workload of his career so far, but also posted his best ERA. He had one complete game shutout in 2022.

5. Grayson Rodriguez

2022 stats: N/A

Rodriguez was drafted 11th overall in the 2018 MLB Draft. He played with the Triple-A Norfolk Tides in 2022, before injuring suffering a lat injury. He had a 2.09 ERA at the time of the injury.
