Every week MLB teams will be ranked for the rest of the season. Here are the 2022 MLB power rankings June 27.

1. New York Yankees
Record: 52-20
Previous Ranking: 1
This is getting a bit repetitive. The Yankees claim the top spot again. There isn’t a team who has threatened that top spot all month. The Yankees haven’t lost a series since the May 22 matchup with the White Sox, in which they lost the series 2-1. That is 10 consecutive series wins or series splits. They are ridiculous.
2. Los Angeles Dodgers
Record: 44-26
Previous Ranking: 3
The Dodgers are the closest thing there is to competition for the Yankees. They currently have two pitchers with at least eight wins and 0 losses on the year(Tyler Anderson, 8-0, and Tony Gonsolin, 9-0).
3. New York Mets
Record: 47-27
Previous Ranking: 2
The Mets have two players in the top five in the MLB in RBI(Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor). Lindor has been hot as of late. Max Scherzer has made his return to the Mets dugout, awaiting his return.
4. Houston Astros
Record: 45-26
Previous Ranking: 4
The Astros had three pitchers combine to no-hit the red-hot New York Yankees on June 25th. Christian Javier put together a masterful 13-strikeout performance in the first seven innings of that game.
5. San Diego Padres
Record: 45-29
Previous Ranking: 5
Joe Musgrove proved he was human as he had his first start of the season that didn’t register as a quality start. It was his first loss of the season, but he still holds an impressive record of 8-1 and an ERA of 2.12.
6. Toronto Blue Jays
Record: 40-31
Previous Ranking: 6
Alek Manoah has been incredible for the Blue Jays. He currently leads the MLB in wins with nine and quality starts with 12. He holds an ERA just north of 2.00. Manoah has a real chance to be a CY Young winner this season.
7. Atlanta Braves
Record: 42-31
Previous Ranking: 7
Freddie Freeman made his return to Atlanta where the fans welcomed back with open arms. They have firmly placed themselves in the top 10 after a very successful June.
8. Boston Red Sox
Record: 41-31
Previous Ranking: 14
The Red Sox have been hot as of late. They have three hitters with a batting average higher than .320. Relief pitcher, John Schreiber has been tremendous, posting a sub-1 ERA in 22 innings.
9. St. Louis Cardinals
Record: 41-33
Previous Ranking: 8
The Cardinals remained locked with the Brewers in the race for the NL Central. This is going to be one of the more intriguing division races as the season pushes forward, as both teams are locked in the top 12 teams in the MLB.
10. Milwaukee Brewers
Record: 41-33
Previous Ranking: 15
Corbin Burnes put together a solid week, with his longest start of the year coming this week. He went 7 2/3 innings and struck out nine batters while allowing five hits and three runs.
11. Cleveland Guardians
Record: 36-31
Previous Ranking: 12
Jose Ramirez has continued to dominate opposing pitching as he has surpassed 40 XBH on the season. The pitching rotation continues to do enough to be competitive, but not enough to be the focal point of the team. The team ERA of 3.69 supports this.
12. Tampa Bay Rays
Record: 39-32
Previous Ranking: 11
The Rays put up a super competitive and entertaining three game series with the first-place Yankees. They dropped the series, losing two of the three games, but the total run differential of the series favored the Yankees by only two runs.
13. San Francisco Giants
Record: 39-32
Previous Ranking: 9
The Giants rank 5th in the MLB in runs scored, but, they don’t have a single qualified hitter with an average above .270. It’s quite odd to see such a successful offense without big stars in the lineup.
14. Minnesota Twins
Record: 40-33
Previous Ranking: 10
Luis Arraez is closing in on a .350 batting average as he is extending his lead in the MLB. Byron Buxton is also continuing to put up tremendous power numbers while holding a very mediocre batting average.
15. Philadelphia Phillies
Record: 38-35
Previous Ranking: 13
The Phillies called up Mark Appel to the Major League club. Appel was the 1st overall pick in 2013 and was out of the league by 2018. He gave baseball another chance in 2021 and has finally made it to the MLB.
16. Chicago White Sox
Record: 33-37
Previous Ranking: 16
Dylan Cease has slowly made his way up the pitching statistic leaderboards. He currently leads the White Sox in strikeouts, wins and ERA. He has made his way into the AL CY Young conversation. CY Cease?
17. Los Angeles Angels
Record: 34-40
Previous Ranking: 20
Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani have both caught fire as of late. They have combined for 29 doubles, 38 home runs, and 92 RBIs. Still, the Angels struggle to find their footing among the playoff contenders.
18. Miami Marlins
Record: 33-38
Previous Ranking: 18
The Marlins are not out of the NL Wild Card picture just yet. They sit seven games back at the moment. Jazz Chisholm will need to return to the form he was in April(.298/.344/.667 slashline) instead of the player he has been in June(.228/.337/.532 slashline).
19. Texas Rangers
Record: 34-36
Previous Ranking: 17
The Rangers are on the verge of being a .500-level team again. This is largely due to the production at the top of the pitching staff, including CY Young candidate Martin Perez.
20. Seattle Mariners
Record: 34-39
Previous Ranking: 21
Julio Rodriguez has been magnificent for the Mariners so far. The rookie sensation has totaled 14 doubles, 11 home runs and 19 stolen bases. The future is bright in center field for the Mariners, as the young star is just 21 years old.
21. Baltimore Orioles
Record: 34-39
Previous Ranking: 23
The Orioles currently sit just five games under .500. This will come as a surprise to many as they have a team batting average of .230 and a team ERA of over 4.00. Neither of these numbers are indicative of how they win games.
22. Arizona Diamondbacks
Record: 32-41
Previous Ranking: 19
The Diamondbacks have been on a downhill slide as of late. They lost both series this week, including a three game sweep by the Padres. One bright spot is Ketel Marte. He has a good argument to be an All-Star.
23. Colorado Rockies
Record: 31-41
Previous Ranking: 22
The Rockies team ERA is nearly 5.00. Teams will not win many games with an ERA around the 5.00 mark. They are hitting .258 as a team, but it is simply not enough to compete when their pitching has been so bad.
24. Pittsburgh Pirates
Record: 29-42
Previous Ranking: 24
The Pirates continue to sit a few spots higher than expected. They have consistently been a team in the 20 to 26 range on this list. Many have expected them to fall off, but they have yet to do so.
25. Detroit Tigers
Record: 28-43
Previous Ranking: 26
Miguel Cabrera has been a leader on this Tigers team for over a decade. The 39-year-old continues this as he leads the team in batting average, hitting almost .300 so far.
26. Chicago Cubs
Record: 27-45
Previous Ranking: 25
The Cubs are competing with the Reds at the bottom of the NL Central. They stay one step ahead of their division foe. Ian Happ has been their best hitter and Keegan Thompson has been their best pitcher.
27. Kansas City Royals
Record: 26-44
Previous Ranking: 28
There were three Royals that were anticipated to have good years this season. So far, they have all been a bit of a letdown. Those three Royals are Bobby Witt Jr(11 HR, .754 OPS), Whit Merrifield(15 2B, .585 OPS) and Salvador Perez(11 HR, .211 AVG)
28. Cincinnati Reds
Record: 24-47
Previous Ranking: 27
The Reds began this week the exact same way they ended last week: by getting swept. Brandon Drury, Tommy Pham, Tyler Mahle and Luis Castillo are some names that the Reds could trade as the trade deadline gets closer.
29. Washington Nationals
Record: 26-48
Previous Ranking: 29
Juan Soto has struggled through the month of June, with an abysmal batting average of .160 on the month. Nearly half of his 12 hits on the month have gone for home runs, as he has five this month.
30. Oakland Athletics
Record: 24-49
Previous Ranking: 30
Once again, the Oakland Athletics claim the 30th spot in these rankings. They are the perfect combination of bad hitting and bad pitching that will lead to a continuous rank as the worst team in the league. Their team batting average is a lowly .211. Yikes, A’s fans.
