Grab your gingerbread and your elks, because we are heading back to Eldraine. Last time Magic players saw Eldraine, we saw a plane filled with lords and ladies with a splash of classic storybook themes. The courts of Eldraine were living their day-to-day lives far away from the mysterious Wilds.
However with the Phyrexian Invasion, the courts were no longer a place to call home. The Phyrexian forces smashed through the defenses of Elrdraine, pushing its citizens to the only area still considered safe – the Wilds of Eldraine. In this new set, players get to explore a new side of this polarizing plane.

During MagicCon Barcelona, Wizards of the Coast held a Preview Panel to reveal what they have in store in the coming months for players. In this panel, fans saw a small glimpse of what’s to come in the Wild of Eldraine.
Wilds of Eldraine Spoilers
First up is the first entry into a new cycle of enemy-colored man-lands. Welcome to the family, Restless Fortress
Audiences also saw a new batch of full-art basic lands. Because what is a new set without some new beautiful full-art basics?
Here we see the first legendary creature from the set – Talion, the Kindly Lord. Talion was one of the powerful mages that help cast the Wicked Slumber – the spell that aided in the defense of the plane to put Phyrexian forces to sleep.
Now with a plane filled with sleepy fiends, it would be a shame if there was a character in Magic’s history that would love to take advantage of people’s nightmares.
Food makes its return as well as one of the key points of the set. And just like the previous iteration of Eldraine, food doesn’t always go down without a fight
Another featured mechcanic makes its return to Wilds of Eldraine in the form of adventures. It appears as though this set will feature multicolored adventures for players to build around.
Art of Upcoming Cards
This preview didn’t reveal too many cards, but it did highlight plenty of incredibly exciting art. These full art pieces hint at new cards that players can expect in Wilds of Eldraine. These characters should feel familiar, as they are all based on iconic storybook characters. Except for the griffin, that one is just a griffin that’s doing their best.
