Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth is the newest entry into the Universes Beyond series by Wizards of the Coast, and players can’t wait to see how Magic depicts the various characters from Tolkien’s beloved work. Magic: the Gathering players can certainly expect some of the fan favorites like Gollum and Frodo to make an appearance, and everyone just may have seen an early glimpse of Aragorn’s new card. On Monday February 27, a now-deleted post on Reddit showcased a potential leak of a Aragorn MTG card.
Of course the picture looks like it was taken on a disposable camera from 1955, but the leaked picture could in fact a leftover card sheet that some how was discarded by an employee.

The card itself depicts Aragorn and Arwen embracing one another, hinting that the card is not actually only Aragorn’s but both Aragorn’s and Arwen’s. The leaked image teases that the duo will be a legendary creature with both Human and Elf super types, as well as being a mythic green-white creature.
The Reddit post also gives a rough translation to the allegedly leaked card, which hints that the card will be a key fixture in creature-based strategies. It reads:
Vigilance
Whenever Aragorn and Arwen, Married, enters the battlefield or attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on each other creature you control. You gain 1 life for each other creature you control.
With a 3/6 power toughness, Aragorn and Arwen could be a tough card to get through.
While the card does appear to share plenty of qualities of a true Magic: the Gathering card, it is important to hold off believing until it is officially released. Until that time, players can only speculate as to whether this card will be the real deal.
