Magic Arena is one of the best places for players to play multiple formats of Magic: The Gathering. Between Standard, Alchemy, Historic Brawl and Limited – players have a wide variety of options to get their TCG fix. Historic is a unique format that allows cards from both paper and digital Magic. Unlike Explorer, Historic allows players to use Alchemy cards from any set. Historic allows players to continue to play with their favorite Alchemy cards after they rotate from Standard. On Friday June 30, Wizards of the Coast revealed the newest release date for Historic Anthology 7.
Players can get their hands on the Historic Anthology 7 on July 18.
These Anthology sets allows Wizards to add cards to certain formats without warping other formats in the process. Because Historic is tied closely to digital Magic cards, these Anthology sets grants players access to other cards that wouldn’t normally fit in Alchemy or Standard. The other big format, Historic Brawl, is always looking for new cards from older sets that can help improve their current Brawl lists.

In this iteration of the Historic Anthology series, players are gaining access to two familiar faces in green decks. HA3 welcomes in Acidic Slime and Tooth and Nail – two cards that green planeswalkers love to have in their Commander decks. This duo is unrivaled in ramp decks as they come into the game and generate big tempo swings. More often than not Tooth and Nail ends the game on the spot. Surely these will be welcome additions to Arena.
The other spoiled card is another staple in larger decks. Worn Powerstone is a classic mana rock that allows for some big turns, and can be even more devastating when players can untap it multiple times. Luckily for players it comes into Arena as an uncommon, so those rare wildcards are safe for more exciting cards.
As the clock ticks down to it’s eventual release date, more cards will surely be revealed for Historic Anthology 7.
