How to Download and Play Legends of Runeterra’s Open Beta

The Legends of Runerra open beta is finally here, and it couldn’t be easier for players to get started. With no set time frame for when the game’s open beta will come to a close, there’s no reason for players to miss out on the opportunity to try the game’s new features, including an all-new Ranked mode.

How do I Download Legends of Runeterra?

For starters, players will need to head to www.playruneterra.com and make an account. The website provides instructions on how to get access to the Open Beta, which went live on January 24 (PC-only). After that, things should be fairly straightforward. Simply download the game and begin working through the initial tutorials on the Open Beta.

What Content is in the Open Beta?

The Open Beta patch includes a variety of new features and content, including ranked mode, a friends list, challenge-a-friend functionality and new boards and guardians. Along with all of these exciting introductions, Legends of Runeterra’s Open Beta also updates at least 20 of the game’s current cards, including some major changes to Anivia, and making a variety of other improvements.

When Does the Open Beta End?

The Open Beta does not yet have an exact end date, however, League of Legends has confirmed that the game will have its official launch, including its release on mobile, sometime later in 2020. Until that point, the Open Beta will remain live, offering all of the features mentioned in this article.
