There is no doubt that fans are going to be very excited for Worlds 2023 coming up soon. With all of the regions done with their finals, the initial groups have been drawn and now everyone will wait to see the main event begin. With that, some parts of Worlds 2023 are starting to be revealed. Here is a look at the Worlds 2023 Banner.
It looks like the Worlds 2023 Banner was leaked by @Spideraxe30 on X/Twitter.
This looks like a cinematic with Leona. whether it will be about her or not is not yet known. That being said, fans have been clamoring for a true cinematic long with a great song. This likely means that the Worlds 2023 song or at least the orchestral themes is coming along soon.
This year, Worlds will be heading back to South Korea for the first time since 2018. For how historic the country is in terms of League of Legends Esports, it is a bit surprising to see that it has taken this long to head back. This is mostly due to COVID moving things to Iceland for a bit but fans there will certainly be excited to have them back.
Play-In Stage
There will be two brackets that are double-elimination to give teams at least four games at Worlds. The two teams that come out on top will make it to the next stage.
Swiss Format
This is where things get very interesting. This will be the first year that 16 teams will battle it out in a Swiss-style format. Once a team is at three losses they will be eliminated or if they reach three wins they will advance. It will be a new take but one that fans are excited about.
Knockouts
This one has not changed whatsoever. Teams are in best-of-five matches until a team is crowned as the champion.
Then came the answer to the question of, what Patch is Worlds 2023 on? LoL Patch 13.18 will likely be the Worlds patch. Not much is known about this patch just yet as it will be announced just a few weeks before the event starts. That being said, it is generally one that will change the meta significantly.
Whether or not this ends up being true at Worlds 2023 won’t be known until it starts on Tuesday, 10/10/2023. Make sure to watch for more Worlds coverage coming soon.
