The brand new LoL Arena Mode has become rather popular among the casual player base — providing a method of enjoying the game without having to farm minions without end. It even has a ranked system, allowing a feeling of progression and improvement.

Considering it’s popularity, this then begs the question: ‘Will LoL Arena Mode be permanent?’
Here is what is known.
As of now it’s technically a temporary game mode — but it definitely has potential to stick around. League of Legend game modes almost always have a possibility of returning or becoming a permanent game mode.
And according to Riot, “the mode has only been live for about a week, so it’s too early to tell if it’s hitting our previously planned performance metrics since we want to see how things shake out over the course of the event.”
They continue to state what they’re looking for when gauging the success of the game:
“This time, in addition to traditional metrics, we also want to evaluate the reception of the mode across our entire audience and use that as a good indicator for the mode. Arena might not be for everyone, but it still let’s you know we’re trying new things, and maybe the next thing we do will be more for you!”
To put it simply, the game mode will stick around permanently if it performs well. Therefore, for fans of the game mode who want it to become permanent, be sure to continue playing! Otherwise, it’s farewell Arena Mode.
