When Does League of Legends Come to Mobile?

During the 10 Year Anniversary event for League of Legends, it was announced that one of the most popular games of all time would be coming to Mobile and Console. This has been something that people have been asking for, for many years and it seems as though the wait will be over sooner than many think. When the trailer was shown, it seemed as though the game was already far along. With that comes the question of when will it be officially coming out?

Alphas and Betas

After the announcement was made, fans were able to go Pre-Register for access to the alpha or beta once it was offered. This is currently only on the Google Play Store but it should be coming to the App Store soon as well. Many believe that the first alpha and betas will be getting starting early next year as the official website says, “We are going to run limited alphas and betas in select countries starting soon.”

If they follow a similar way as they have run the releases of Teamifight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra, it is likely that this will start with a couple of day trial for those who get in. The release for these first ones will also more than likely start in Quarter 1 of 2020. The hope for many will be that it will be sometime in January.

What about the Full Release?

As of right now, there is no set date. But, the official site states, “The plan is to have the mobile version fully live in most regions by the end of 2020, with console coming sometime after.” With that is mind it seems as though it would be hitting regions like China, Korea, Europe and the United States no later than Quarter 4 of 2020. It is possible that if the beta trials run smoothly that this version of the game could be released before then as well. Again if it is as polished as it looked and they follow a similar pattern to TFT and Legends of Runeterra, mobile users could see the game sometime in the summer even.

Either way, this will be a major step for Riot Games and League of Legends. They will finally be entering the mobile world, something that has been asked for, over and over. The best part is that many people won’t have to wait too long. Although console users may not be so lucky.
