Publish Date: March 31, 2025

Project K has been announced to be Riftbound – The League of Legends Trading Card Game. This will be the first physical trading card game to find its way to stores around the world for League of Legends. Here is a look at the Riftbound – The League of Legends Trading Card Game Release Date.

Riftbound – The League of Legends Trading Card Game Release Date

The Riftbound – The League of Legends Trading Card Game Release Date will be in the Summer of 2025 for China and most English-speaking countries later in 2025. The rest of the world will start to see cards rolling out throughout 2026.

This comes as a bit of a surprise after the development team went dark to completely revamp the card art and a few other aspects of the game. The turnaround was quick and now they will be launching throughout 2025 and 2026.

It is also a surprise considering Legends of Runeterra is just about to hit its 5th Anniversary, almost exactly one month after this announcement. The reaction of TCG players will certainly be one to watch for.

League of Legends TCG: Good or Bad Timing?

This will be a major topic of conversation.

With Pokemon, Lorcana, Magic and so many other TCGs, it will be interesting to see if League of Legends’ IP will be enough to drive this game. Regardless of how good the game itself is, everyone knows that the collecting aspect is what is driving this insane market right now, Pokemon in particular.

If Riftbound can carve out a niche, it will be able to survive. If it can find a way to get collectors to go crazy about chasing certain cards then that can be what will help this newest TCG thrive.
