At the beginning of the year, League of Legends and Riot Games announced The Ruined King Viego was coming to the game. With his announcement, they also revealed that the next three champions to come in 2021 would all revolved around him. The first one was Gwen, The Hallow Seemstress. Then the next two to come out are a “Gloomy Yordle” and a mid-lane marksman. Although the Yordle was supposed to come first, they moved them back for the marksmen Akshan. Now Vex is finally arriving and many will be looking for her abilities. Here is a look at the Vex abilities.
Note*: These abilities were shown in the video but their official names and stats have not been given yet. Make sure to check back as they should be out soon.

Passive – Doom N’ Gloom
Doom:
Periodically, Vex becomes empowered by Doom causing her next basic ability to interrupt dashes and Fear enemies.
Gloom:
Whenever a nearby enemy dashes or blinks they become marked with Gloom. Vex’s next basic attack against a marked enemy detonates the mark dealin bonus damage and refunding part of Doom’s cooldown.
Q – Mitral Bolt
Vex launches a wave forward, dealing magic damage to enemies it passes through. After a short delay, the wave accelerates but has reduced width. Mistral Bolt detonates Gloom on any marked enemies it hits.
W – Personal Space
Vex gains a shield and emits a shockwave dealing magic damage to enemies around her. Personal Space detonates Gloom on any marked enemies it hits.
E – Looming Darkness
Shadow flies to a location increasing in size as it travels. On arriving, Shadow deals magic damage, slows, and marks enemies hit with Gloom.
R – Shadow Surge
Shadow flies forward, marking and dealing magic damage to the first enemy champion hit. Vex can then recast this ability to have shadow pull her to the marked target, dealing additional magic damage. If the marked target dies within a short time of taking damage from Shadow Surge, vex can cast Shadow Surge again within a few seconds.
This was what was shown before but what is seen above was not yet known.
Everything will be filled in once the abilities are officially released. Until then, here is a look at what was shown in the potentially leaked champion spotlight for Vex.
In the video, she launches her shadow at an enemy and seemingly possesses them as she also jumps to them. What is interesting and notable is that it seems as though this ability can be recast. Whether there is a qualifier such as needing to get a kill or assist with it is still unknown.
This is unlikely to be an ability and more her animation when she leaves the fountain but it could be possible that Vex has an ability that allows her to get around the map more quickly.
This ability is very clearly an AOE fear. It has a small delay before it hits but it is seemingly very unique to her kit. Also one can see the eye on Yasuo. One could assume that this is a sort of passive either from an ability of just her normal passive. She does proc it with abilities so it will be interesting to see if it grants her stats or deals extra damage or something completely different.
A better look at her potential passive.
This last ability would seemingly be a spammable spell that may be Vex’s main source of damage. There also was something seen in the trailer that would make it seem as though this can potentially be empowered. If this is like an Ezreal Q then fans may be a bit upset depending on the damage it does.
