Top 10 LCS Players to Watch: 2022 Offseason Edition

The LCS offseason has started. While moves are trickling down in terms of teams actually announcing them, rumors are already swirling. Teams are making their moves in the dark, for now, and fans are wondering who will be going where. With that, here are the Top 10 LCS Players to Watch heading into the 2022 offseason.

The reason this is not a free agency list is that realistically, LCS contracts do not really matter all that much and basically everyone is at least available for the right price. That being said, not every player is obviously going to move. This is more looking at the Top 10 players who already have rumors of movement or are likely to move during the LCS 2022 Offseason.

10. Copy

After three years of lighting it up in the Amateur and Acadmy scene, it is time for Copy to get his shot. It feels as though he has been in the scene for a while and has been discussed for an LCS spot for some time, but he just turned 20 a few weeks ago. With LCS teams rumored to be focusing more on NA talent, someone is bound to pick up Copy. He is more of a classic control mage-styled mid but has played 41 different champions in his 244 games that lol.fandom has tracked. He deserves a shot and 2023 feels like a great chance for him to prove that he could be one of the next great LCS mids.

9. Zven

The veteran decided to take up playing support and was able to help C9 win an LCS Championship because of it. Sadly, he was a bit outmatched once he got to Worlds and certain parts of his game were exposed. This was to be expected considering he just picked up the position a few months prior. Even with all of that, Zven is still able to go back to his normal position and be one of the best ADCs in the LCS. He will certainly be looking to prove that on another team and if not, he can always continue his career as a support for Berseker.

8. Santorin

Arguably the most consistent player on the TL super team last year, Santorin should certainly be a hot commodity if he is available. With how Steve described things at the end of the season, it feels like he will be. Even after being in the LCS since 2014, Santorin is still only 25 and seems to be aging like a fine wine. He can play a multitude of styles and while carrying is not normally his forte, he can do it when the meta calls for it. Plenty of teams will want the veteran who is still hungry to win his first LCS title.

7. Eyla

Over the past two seasons, Eyla has certainly had his stock rise. No more so than when he filled in for CoreJJ at the beginning of the Spring and showed everyone that he deserved a real shot at the LCS. Will he be able to repeat it on what could be a much worse team? Who knows. But what is known is that he is coming off back-to-back Proving Grounds titles and helped establish TL Academy as one of the best Academy squads ever. Eyla will be another player that should be getting a lot of attention considering how lackluster the support pool was last year.

6. Impact

Of every player on this list, Impact feels like he is the least likely to move at this point. That being said, his contract is up and he is still one of the best top laners in the LCS. Impact brings stability and a veteran presence in a league that feels like it is going to get young fairly quickly. What makes him so valuable is that he is still at the top of his game and can compete with the top lane talent at Worlds. Nearly any team in the LCS should be looking at him if they plan on making a charge for Worlds 2023. Look for him to stay with EG at this point but should he not have his contract renewed, he should be one of the first dominoes to fall this offseason.

5. Ssumday

The rock of 100 Thieves may finally be available for real this time. With Tenacity (the player just above him on this list) pushing for an LCS spot, Ssumday may get dethroned for a younger option. Should this be the case, similar to Impact, Ssumday would quickly become arguably the top non-Academy Top Laner for LCS teams. The fact that he counts as a resident and can play just about any style needed is incredibly valuable. Ssumday will have a spot in the LCS if he chooses not to leave, where though will be worth keeping an eye on.

4. Tenacity

It is time. No more waiting for one of the most hyped prospects the LCS has seen in quite some time. Tenacity saw Kenvi finally get his chance last year and will definitely be wanting his this year. Whether it is with 100 Thieves or someone else is not yet known. What is known is that the Top Lane will have positions available, especially for someone as talented as Tenacity. If 100 Thieves decide to stick with Ssumday, expect Tenacity to be at the top of every team’s list for 2023.

3. CoreJJ

It wasn’t the season that fans normally expect from CoreJJ but he was still one of the best supports in the LCS. His contract is up and changes are coming to Team Liquid. Whether this means that CoreJJ will be a part of those changes or not is still uncertain. If CoreJJ is available he will have suitors lining up for the opportunity to have him on their team. His leadership and the fact that he makes any ADC instantly better will make CoreJJ a very enticing signing.

2. Bjergsen

For the third season in a row, Bjergsen will be looking to make a change. In 2021 it was becoming a coach, in 2022 going back to mid but playing for TL and now the rumors are that he is looking for his next team. Even without having his “Bjergsen Moment” where he solo carries his team to the finish line, Bjergsen still had a very strong season. This reminded everyone that he is far from washed and surely a team will be interested in acquiring his services. Look for Bjerg to try and find his way onto another team with Worlds ambitions.

1. Spica

Finally, the top player to watch this offseason will be Spica. Even with all of the changes and issues last season, Spica still had a very solid 2022. His run once the team finally had some stability reminded everyone what the former MVP could do. With his announcement that he is available, Spica instantly became the most coveted player in the LCS. He is still only 21, has an MVP, won a championship, can play at a high level in basically any meta and is playing in arguably the most important position in League of Legends. There is no doubt that Spica should be on a top-level LCS team next year and where he goes may have a pretty big impact on what many LCS teams do this offseason.
