After four intense matches in the quarterfinals of the League of Legends World Championships, four teams remain. Between FunPlus Phoenix, Invictus Gaming, SK Telecom T1 and G2 Esports, the semifinals are sure to provide some amazing matches. So how will the semifinals look and what will it bring? Let’s take a look and find out!
Pride Rematch
The rise of G2 Esports at Mid-Season Invitational came as a result of the fall of Korea and SK Telecom T1. Despite a fairly dominant season so far, SKT’s BO5 loss to G2 remains as the team’s only series loss throughout the whole season. Now on their way to a record fourth title, SKT will have a chance to avenge their loss against G2. With the entire roster playing at its peak, it will present the team’s best chance to win it all once again.
Meanwhile, for G2, their quest to become the first western World champion will require the team to show that their win against SKT at MSI wasn’t a fluke. Along with a win against SKT, G2 could potentially avenge their loss against Invictus Gaming from Worlds 2018 which was highlighted by the iconic Aatrox play by IG top laner Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok.
With so much on the line, which team will win it all? Will it be SKT as they try to bring Korea back to the throne? Or will it be G2 as they try to keep the western hope alive?
LPL Winter Finals
Coming into Worlds, LPL champions had a nearly flawless LPL Summer season. They had only lost a single series through both the regular season and playoffs during the Summer and that loss came at the hands of the LPL Spring champions and current World champions in Invictus Gaming.
With this in mind, the semifinals matchup will suddenly mean a lot more. Not only will it decide which team will represent China in the finals, but it will also decide which team was the better Chinese team at the end of the season. So which team will win the mini LPL Winter final and represent the LPL on the final stage of the season? No matter which team takes the series, it’s going to be a fun one to watch.

This may simply be one of the greatest final four in the history of Worlds. Each team has a legitimate shot at winning it all and joining a select few that have had the honor of lifting the Summoner’s Cup. So at the end of it all, which team will rise above the rest and prove themselves?
Will G2 Esports win it all and bring to fall the giants of League of Legends?
Can SK Telecom win and show that through all their struggles in past years, that legends never die?
Will Funplus Phoenix bury their demons of the past and begin a new empire?
Or can Invictus Gaming prove themselves yet again and rise?
Destiny is calling out to one of these teams. Who will win it all?
