In a press release, the LEC announced that Logitech G, Warner Music, Tchibo and Beko were re-signed as sponsors for the 2020 season. The lengths and amount of each deal was not disclosed.
“We’re humbled by the fact that so many of our partners from 2019 have chosen to renew their trust in the LEC in 2020.”, said Alban Dechelotte, Head of Sponsorships & Business Development EU at Riot Games
Here is a look at what each sponsor will be bringing to the table.
Logitech G
“Last year we welcomed Logitech G to the LEC lineup of partners, and we couldn’t be more excited to renew our partnership and to welcome them back as an official supplier for the 2020 season. Logitech G has a proud history as a supporter of League esports, with long term sponsorships with multiple teams and a fan reputation as an industry-leading brand focused on gamer needs. In 2020, they’ll once more be providing keyboards, mice and mousepads as the official supplier of the league, in addition to continuing to support the fan favourite “Mechanics” show each week.”
Warner Music
“Another returning partner, Warner Music will be rejoining the LEC as Official Music Partner in 2020. As a worldwide leader in music and entertainment, we’re excited to double down on the partnership and rock out to our own soundtracks via new and exciting music for LEC breaks during our weekly broadcasts. Warner Music will also continue to see how they can elevate the LEC experience across content, live performances, and broadcast. Check back soon to find out more!”
Tchibo
“Returning as a National Partner for the DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) region, Tchibo is back to provide the LEC with its coffee kick. Tchibo is one of the largest German retail companies, standing for top-quality coffee and unmatched coffee enjoyment. Keep your eyes out for more information about how Tchibo will be activating with us over the coming weeks.”
Beko
“Finally, we’re thrilled to announce the return of global home appliances brand Beko back to the LEC as Official Domestic Appliances Supplier for the Spring and Summer Split. In 2019 we took on the Beko kitchen together, taking a closer look at what LEC heroes have on their plates courtesy of the ‘Eat Like A Pro’ series and offering tips and recipes for healthy meals along with celebrity guests. In 2020 we’ll be creating even more fun content for fans to chew on, with Beko becoming the official post-game interview partner of the LEC and bringing about a new “Live Like A Pro” series.”
Sponsors Galore
All four of these announcements come on the heel of the LEC announcing that AKRacing would be the official chair supplier of the LEC. These announcements continue to show the health and growth of the major League of Legends professional regions. This is something that has not been seen as much in other esports as advertisers and leagues struggle to find common ground. Hopefully, the LEC, LCS, LCK, LPL and others will continue to prove that esports viewers can benefit brands immensely.
