In a very unexpected move, TSM are signing Chawy from the PCS team Hong Kong Attitude to be their new head coach. This comes as a report from BloopGG and DotEsports. He will be taking over the position from longtime player and recent coach, Bjergsen. The exact details of the deal are not yet known and the team has not made an official announcement yet.

Chawy may not be a household name in the LCS but he is a former player and coach with a lot of Worlds experience. He joined Taipei Assassins a few years after they won Worlds Season 2. Then he was the starting mid for the ahq eSports Club teams that would represent the LMS at Worlds in 2016 and 2017. After playing a year for his new team Hong Kong Attitude in 2018, the 29-year-old would sign on as their new head coach.
He helped to lead the team to another Worlds appearance in 2019 as a coach this time and has since struggled to move his team up the ladder. In 2020 and 2021 the team never finished higher than fourth and missed out on Worlds.
This signing by TSM will certainly come as a surprise to many fans who are still likely recovering from the loss of Bjergsen as both a player and a head coach for the team.
The future for TSM is currently not known and much of the roster has not been revealed yet. Many believe that the lack of signings are due to the team looking at eastern players as they do not sign as quickly as western. Should this be the case, it will be interesting to see what type of roster TSM will put together with Huni and Spica who are currently expected to be on the team in 2022.
