Team Liquid had Jatt as their head coach for the first half of 2021. Then some issues, that have still not been disclosed, lead to him being let go. It was assistant coach Kold that was brought in as the interim Head Coach. He was able to lead the team to Summer Finals 2021 while losing out yet again to 100 Thieves. TL then went to Iceland for Worlds 2021 and just missed out on making it out of groups finishing 3-3.
There is no doubt that TL have been wanting to make some changes. With the rumored roster adding top tier talent in Bjergsen, Bwipo and Hans Sama, Team Liquid are poised to push for a top spot in the LCS. Adding Guilhoto shows that they want an experienced coach and one that has helped to keep a player “locker room” together.
Now the pressure will be on the roster and the coaching staff. It will be interesting to see who Guilhoto adds to his staff in order to help TL live up to the lofty expectations. No matter who it is, Team Liquid fans should surely be excited for the 2022 season both in the LCS and internationally.
