Team Liquid: Week 1 Preview

Publish Date: May 31, 2019

The wait for the LCS is almost over as Week 1 of the Summer Split approaches. Many teams will be looking to build off of their performance from the Spring Split, while others are looking to find traction. Team Liquid will be one of those teams looking to build on their resume. They’re currently coming off of their third straight LCS championship and an impressive run at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational. Finishing atop the LCS will certainly be their primary motive, as they look to remain a contender.

Week 1 Match-Ups

The first week of the LCS Summer Split should shape up to be an exciting one. After the opening match between Cloud9 and FlyQuest, Team Liquid will face off against their newfound rivals in Team SoloMid. Both teams are considered two of the most successful teams in LCS history, and they recently met in the spring finals. TSM will likely be seeking revenge, whereas Team Liquid will be looking to flip the scripts from last split and sweep their opponent.

Day 2 of Week 1 will consist of more competitive action, but this time Team Liquid will be taking on EchoFox. This matchup will be tightly contested, as EchoFox look to make a name for themselves against one of the best teams in the LCS. On the other side, Team Liquid will be hungry and ready to keep their reputation intact.

Predictions

There have certainly been harder hills to climb for Team Liquid, but week one will be a great place for them to prove their worth again. Even though TSM will be hard to beat, it can be done with proper preparation. As long as Team Liquid can stick to their boundaries, they can easily come away with an undefeated opening weekend.
