CoreJJ interview: “[Jatt] is trying to change to bring everyone together, so we play as one team.”

Publish Date: June 18, 2020

Heading into Summer Split, TGH connected with Team Liquid’s support, CoreJJ, and asked some questions. Here are his brief thoughts on the poor Spring Split, Liquid’s roster changes, and three words to describe his new bottom laner Tactical.

Rob (TGH): I’m Robert Hanes from TheGameHaus. It’s really nice to meet you Core. I just want to talk a little bit about last split. I’m sure you’ve been getting a lot of questions about it. I just wanted to just get your general thoughts on how Spring Split went.

CoreJJ: Yes, it was…it was a very, very rough, and it was really mixed with every bad thing. Mistakes combined, many issues like individual skills team performance. So, I think we were really bad, without any excuse.

Rob (TGH): Yeah, it just seems like there was the perfect storm of everything happening all at the same time. So, with that, obviously there have been some changes and we want to know how do you see things going for Summer Split. Is there anything in particular that you and TL have been doing differently to prepare for the upcoming split?

CoreJJ: Of course we have a lot of changes so some things like we got [Assistant Coach] Chris [Croissant] and [Head Coach] Jatt. And then we added Tactical as our starting ADC. We changed the roster and we want to be different in the upcoming Summer Split. Everyone has the same core to show they care that they didn’t show up in Spring Split. So, I feel like Team Liquid is going to be better.

Rob (TGH): Absolutely, absolutely. So, can you talk to me a little bit about working with Jatt. How has that gone so far?

CoreJJ: Yeah he is actually amazing. He’s doing a great job. And now, like a bridge between everybody. He’s is trying to change to bring everyone together, so we play as one team.

Rob (TGH): Great, I love to hear that. I got one more question for you, and you can take your time on this one. What are three words that you would use to describe Tactical?

CoreJJ: One is talented…second is freedom…last one potential.

Rob (TGH): That’s great, you know, we’re all trying to get to know Tactical a little bit more, so hearing from his lane partner about him is great. I just want to thank you again for your time, Core. I think you guys are gonna have a great Summer Split.

CoreJJ: Yeah, I really want to!
