The first LCK team has announced its full roster for the 2020 League of Legends season. After previously extending the contracts of the bot lane tandem of ADC Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk and support Kim “Life” Jeong-min, Gen.G has announced the rest of their team. Joining the team is former DragonX top laner Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee, former SK Telecom T1 jungler Kim “Clid” Tae-min and finally former KT Rolster mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong.
We’re really excited to announce our newest additions to the Gen.G @leagueoflegends team: Clid, @Rascal_LoL1, and @Bdd990301! We ask our Gen.G #TigerNation fans to give them a warm welcome! pic.twitter.com/oX1zNteb3q

While these changes should prove to be huge upgrades to the roster, the question now becomes how will it actually perform and how strong will this roster be later on once other teams also announce their full rosters?
Will Growth Continue?
While the team features some solid veteran players such as Ruler and Bdd the team will need their younger players in Rascal and Life to continue improving. If these two players are able to continue improving and have an even better showing than their respective Summer Split performances, Gen.G will easily be a top 5 team in the league. However, if these two players regress, which is also possible, the team will have some very clear weaknesses that they will have trouble covering up through the season.
In the end, the performance of these two players will prove to be an important one.
Will the Struggles Return?
Two more prominent concerns on paper for the new Gen.G roster will be around the performance of Bdd and the decision making of the Gen.G coaching staff. For Bdd, while he was still a solid player on KT Rolster, he did have moments where he struggled and looked like one of the worst players on the Rift. If these struggles continue, Gen.G could find some issues against the top teams with strong mid laners like DAMWON Gaming.
Meanwhile, how the coaching staff uses the players on this roster will have a huge effect on how this team performs in the coming season as well. If the coaching staff is stuck in their ways and puts Clid on tank duty and prevents him from having any agency over the early game, then the team won’t get anywhere. At the end of the day, the decision making of the coaching staff could play the biggest role in the performance of this new Gen.G roster.
If everything goes well, Gen.G should easily find themselves in title contention
