On November 19, 2021, T1 Re-Sign Faker for the 2022 competitive season. At this point, everyone knows of the legend, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok. Known as the greatest League of Legends player of all time, Faker remains loyal to his organization: T1. From the beginning of his career in 2013 to now, Faker stuck by T1. Through the organization’s rebrands, its numerous ups and its downs, Faker stands as the strongest pillar of the organization. T1 without Faker is simply unimaginable.
The end of the 2022 season will mark the 10th year for Faker’s competitive experience in League of Legends. Despite his long career, Faker remains a highly skilled and valuable player. Throughout his extensive time playing competitive League of Legends, other reputable players have come and gone. The majority of his contemporaries have long since retired, yet Faker’s passion for the game still burns strong.

The most recent T1 roster managed to qualify for Worlds in 2021. Managing to climb all the way to the semi finals, eventually losing in close a 2-3 match against Damwon, T1’s form hasn’t looked so good in a long time. Clearly out for redemption in the next season, Faker stated “I’m back” on his public re-sign announcement. He stares confidently into the camera, eyes brimming with a competitive drive. Made evident through his plays and consistent performance on the competitive stage throughout his many years, Faker continues to better himself and those around him.
In Conclusion
Faker is a long way from becoming a washed up player. Consistently guiding the T1 team with his wealth of experience, Faker pushes forward in an attempt to further influence the trajectory of competitive League of Legends. Faker’s continued legacy stands as the pinnacle for all other professionals to aspire towards. Hopefully he takes care of himself so he can stay with the community for many more years to come.
