After two years apart, Golden Guardians and huhi are looking likely to team up again according to sources. This comes after the team announced that they were parting ways with Olleh back at the end of October. Here is the latest on the move and what it means for both Golden Guardians and huhi.

On 100 Thieves, huhi was able to win his second LCS Championship in 2021. The team would finish second during both Splits in 2022 and struggled at Worlds to the tune of a 1-5 record. Many expected changes on the team and with the rumors that Busio is going to start at support, it meant that the eight-year veteran would have to find a new home.
Since switching to support, huhi has found new life for his career. He impressed once on Golden Guardians back in 2020 and has run with it since. Many have seen him as a top-three support in the region at times and has been one of the biggest success stories at role-swapping in the region.
There are a lot of aspects of Golden Guardians that are currently unknown. What is known is that Nick “Inero” Smith has a plan to bring in veterans and see which ones will work best with new younger and less experienced talent for the future. While this is a multiyear plan, the signing of huhi is the first step in that plan and an upgrade to what they had during the 2022 season.
This likely means that Academy players Hustlin and Prismal will either continue to be down on the Academy team or they will have to fight huhi for the starting spot.
Regardless, this is one of the first dominoes to fall for Golden Guardians. There are still some big decisions to be made as the team struggled to make playoffs. Certainly, they will be looking to continue to improve heading into 2023.
