Riot Reveals New Content About Lucian’s Backstory and Possibly a New Champion?

In a complete surprise, as Larue “Bulii” Valee was finishing up an interview with SKT’s Park “Teddy” Jin-seong, she quickly mentioned a new bit of content from Riot. Then they cut to the video below:

Senna: Dark Passage | Champion Teaser – League of Legends

There had been some rumors that more to the Lucian backstory was coming, but having it happen after one of the best matchups at Worlds 2019 so far between SKT and RNG was not what most were expecting. While very short, the video basically shows Lucian having a nightmare about losing his love Senna to Thresh. Then it cuts to him on his way to basically do the Hercules bit where he goes through Hell to try and save her soul.

There are a couple of things worth noting here with this video. For starters, it looks incredible and the content continues to shine in that regard. The second is that this is clearly much more of a teaser. What for? Well either a much longer video that actually dives deeper into Lucian’s attempts to save Seena. Or, could it be a Senna reveal? It seems possible that it could even be both. Possibly that Lucian gets to her and now she is a different version of herself or that maybe he revives her and she was a fighter all along. No matter what, this definitely does not seem to be the end of this story, so keep an eye out for more as Worlds 2019 continues on.
