According to Bloop, Immortals have signed both Jason “WildTurtle” Tran and Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage for the 2022 IMT LCS Season. This move means that both Mitchell “Destiny” Shaw and David “Insanity” Challe have been replaced for the 2022 season. The tweet from @FreeAgencyShow belong has the details.

Immortals is coming off a solid 2021 Season. After a 10th place in Summer 2020, the 7th place in Spring and Summer is quite the upgrade. Head coach Guilhoto is also rumored to be rumored to be moving to Team Liquid. Losing Guilhoto is a huge wound to the future of Immortals. Guilhoto came in with a plan and turned the franchise around in a single year. Sure, it wasn’t Top Half results, but it was a multi year plan.
Turtle and PowerOfEvil:
Turtle and POE are certainly two interesting moves. It signals a shift away from the talent development that IMT was trying to do in 2021. Turtle and POE are by no means washed players either. POE had a solid split on TSM and Turtle was the most consistent player on CLG. Turtle and POE also have a history playing together on Flyquest. In 2020, they went to Worlds and got 2nd twice in the LCS. This duo itself isn’t the issue, it’s the abandoned nature of player development from IMT that is a cause for concern.
Sure, Revenge is still on the roster with Destiny. Destiny is 24 and Revenge is 22. Age isn’t an issue if players are getting better, but there is correlation.
It is going to be interesting to see how Immortals handle the WildTurtle and PowerOfEvil announcement.
